As for your personal items, we have a drybag to keep them with us during the lesson.
Is there a place for family and friends to watch?
Depending on the area, there will either be a beach nearby or directly from the marina.
Do I need to be in great shape?
Watersports are more finesse than strength but with beginner level technique, it can be exhausting.
Being in better shape will help you learn a little faster, but we have taught people of all ages, shapes, and sizes.
We teach using the safest and easiest-to-learn methods possible.
You should be comfortable in the water and be able to swim.
How long does it take to learn?
Every single person is different, depending on transferable experience from other sports/watersports.
In general, we suggest planning for at least 3 days to get you to where you can practice on your own, Safely.
The more time you have on the water with an instructor, the farther up the learning curve you will get.
Generally speaking, we recommend a minimum of 3-6 days of lessons to become self-sufficient.
10-20 days to attain the higher levels of progression.
If you come with strong wind and board skills, you will learn faster.
What can I do to prepare for my lessons?
Watersports uses large muscle groups so working on your legs, core, and back will help you stay fresh for your lesson.
Stretching, yoga, and anything you can do to improve your flexibility and balance are also recommended.
Watching these videos will help prepare you for your respective lesson.
What is your lesson cancellation policy?
We are very reasonable, within the scope of fairness.
For any lessons affected by weather conditions (Wind is less than 10 knots or over 25 knots, moderate rain, or temperatures below 60 F) we will reschedule/refund the lesson.
For lessons canceled more than 48 hrs before the date/time, you can receive a full refund upon request. Alternatively, you can keep the lesson on hold for a future date to lock in your price.
For lessons canceled between 48-24 hrs before the date/time, you can no longer receive a refund, but you can get a store credit for either Products or Services.
For lessons canceled less than 24 hours before the date/time, we have to be fair to our business’s limited availability structure. Someone else could have taken your slot and due to the nature of private lessons, we lost an opportunity to give a lesson. Unless you can prove that it was a medical emergency, we can not offer store credit or reschedule.
The only exceptions are for E-foil lessons scheduled during the week, which don’t go by wind availability.
What is your refund policy on equipment and lessons?
If, within 14 days, you don’t want the product anymore, you can request authorization to ship the product back to us in its original condition, with all the tags still connected.
After inspection, we will issue you a refund for the cost of the item. Shipping is non-refundable.
